Take a quick pre-workshop assessment and meet fellow attendees. Workshop will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m.                                                                        

8:00 a.m.             Welcome Back to the PEEP 2.0 Program!

8:30 a.m.             Science of Energy STEM Challenge

Participate in a team challenge on one of 3 Science of Energy station-based thematic challenges as a way to review content, and use materials you already have, while honing science process skills.

9:30 a.m.             Energy Enigma  

Review the sources of energy and their use in nation through this fun trivia-style game.  

10:30 a.m.           Electricity – It’s about to get LIT!  

Use the new elementary version of an activity you’ve seen before to learn about the challenges of balancing supply and demand! Then, try your hand at a fun challenge with circuits.

11:15 a.m.           Fission Fun

Form a little “nuclear” family to explore these nuclear activities.

1:00 p.m.            Captain Biomass to the Rescue!

Check out a fun new addition to NEED’s library that helps students understand a key part of Philadelphia’s energy picture – biomass. Explore our creative suite of activities as a fun way to get “quick and dirty” content delivery in a fun way.

1:15 p.m.             Climate Science Conundrum   

Kids care about climate. These activities will help your students understand the science.   

2:15 p.m.             Save it for Later  

Take a look at the new and improved insulation design challenge from NEED’s enhanced and improved energy efficiency and conservation suite of materials. Take the tools for a spin.
