4:30 p.m.          Welcoming Program and Energy Bingo

Introduction to the program and welcome by National Fuel representatives.  Meet your colleagues and play Energy Efficiency Bingo. 

5:15 p.m.          Science of Energy – Part 1

Hands on stations that teach about the forms of energy and energy transformations.  

6:30 p.m.          Adjourn

Further Exploration of Hands on stations that teach about the forms of energy and energy transformations.

A presentation introduces the wedge concept and ways we can reduce society’s carbon footprint.

4:30 p.m.          Introduction to Building Performance

This presentation discusses the scientific concepts that govern energy use and indoor air quality at home and at school.  Then explore hands-on stations that teach about building science and heat transfer. 

5:15 p.m.          School and Home Energy Investigation

An introductory presentation provides the basics of how to perform an energy investigation with your students.  Then, using equipment from the home and classroom kits we will investigate the building. 

6:00 p.m.          Energy Efficiency Measures

Learn about items included in the home kit that will help students and their families reduce energy consumption at home.  Interested teachers will be provided with a class-set of 30 home energy efficiency kits for students to take home, install with their families, and start saving energy.   During this section we will become familiar with and utilize the equipment.           

6:15 p.m.          Closing Program

Complete evaluations and order forms for NEED materials. Receive professional development certificates for participation. 

 6:30 p.m.          Adjourn
