2018 Kentucky Energy Conference for Educators

The 2018 Kentucky Energy Conference for Educators brings together educators, from around the Commonwealth, who are passionate about bringing energy education to their classrooms.  In five interactive days, the conference provides teachers with current information on aspects of energy including the science of energy, Kentucky's natural resources used to produce energy, generation of electricity, efficiency and conservation practices as well as career opportunities in Kentucky's energy industry.

Participants will travel via tour bus, visiting energy sites in Eastern Kentucky.   Educators will receive materials to implement innovative hands-on energy units for their classrooms, multi-disciplinary teams, and after-school programs.

About the Tour

  • There is no cost for tour participants.  Funding is provided by the Kentucky Department for Energy Development and Independence and includes lodging, meals and mileage stipend.
  • The conference is not for the faint of heart - but has been noted as the most fun a teacher could have while learning.
  • We’ll meet in Winchester, KY on Sunday evening, June 10 for orientation.  On Monday morning our tour will begin.  We’ll return to Winchester on Friday afternoon, June 16.
  • Participants will receive NEED Curriculum resources.
