Through NEED, ConocoPhillips funds energy education workshops for teachers in the U.S. We help teachers educate students on a wide range of topics including energy conservation and alternative energy sources. Over 95 percent of the workshop participants indicate that they will use the materials in their classrooms. To date, we have reached approximately 600,000 students through the program.

9:00 a.m. The Science of Energy
Learn more about the forms of energy and energy transformations while experimenting with the Science of Energy kit. ConocoPhillips provides a Science of Energy Kit (for appropriate grade level) to all participating teachers.
10:30 a.m. Intro to Oil & Gas
10:45 a.m. Exploring Oil & Gas Activities
These lessons and activities help students understand the exploration, production and use of the nation’s oil and natural gas.
12:00 p.m. Lunch
1:00 p.m. Tour of School of Energy
3:00 p.m. Nifty Natural Gas Story
This lesson will help explain the energy transformations or flows involved in natural gas, from production to use.
3:30 p.m. Paperwork and Other Stuff: Complete Workshop Evaluations, Post-workshop assessment, receive substitute reimbursement forms, and complete Order Forms for Curriculum and Kits
