Workshop Dates and Topics

 Day One—Tuesday, January 20, 2015

  • Why clients behave in specific ways
  • How socioeconomics affects behavior and mindsets
  • The “hidden rules” of generational poverty, middle class and wealth
  • Strategies for optimizing outcomes for individuals and families

 Day Two—Wednesday, January 21, 2015

  • Review and practice skills that build and embed relationships of mutual respect
  • Examine mentoring models and practices
  • Understand and practice mediation skills that produce  concrete strategies to maintain focus and energy for change
  • Examine barriers to change created by poverty, organizations and society

Jodi Pfarr holds a Master of Divinity degree and is formerly a certified critical debriefer and chaplain with the St. Paul Police Department. She also worked as a supervisor for Catholic Charities and for the Salvation Army and served as executive director of Emma Norton Services, providing housing to single women with issues around low income, mental illness, and/or chemical dependency.
