Description of the Course:

In this course, you'll learn about building supervisory skills and implementing them prior to taking a supervisory position. You will learn about hard and soft skills needed as an employee and how those shift when taking a supervisory position. You’ll be able to describe a variety of different supervision models as well as their effectiveness in practice. You’ll learn about NASW/Ohio CSWMFT Board Best Practice Standards in Supervision. You will learn how to practice and assess readiness to transition into a supervisory position.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify different modalities of supervision.
  2. Examine hard and soft skills needed in the practice of social work and differences between employee versus supervisor role in using these skills.
  3. Identify NASW/Ohio CSWMFT Board best practice standards in supervision.
  4. Assess readiness to transition into a supervisory role.
