ERSEA Learning Community Meeting #1

October 19, 2017

Because agencies need to have systems and forms in place by January, we will begin our series of networking meetings with the topics of income and age eligibility as well as recruitment. With a combination of an agency peer panel and a world cafe format, we will tackle these issues addressing matters both large and small.

As a registered participant, you will recieve a Survey Monkey questionaire to provide you with an opportunity to add any additional topics to the discussion prior to the actual meeting.

Income Eligibility

  • What do we know for sure? What are the grey areas?
  • How do others deal with these questions and how are they addressed in the new Head Start performance standards?
  • What technical support is available?
  • How do others handle the 100-130 percent of poverty question and distribution of prioritization points? Many families are found over income eligibility recently.

Age Eligibility

  • What processes and documents are others using in the selection process that is acceptable to reviewers and auditors?
  • Are we following the spirit of the performance standards?
