Program for Infant and Toddler Care
Six Essential Practices of Relationship-Based Care
Audience:
Early Head Start coordinators, managers, directors, coaches, care givers, child care partners and state infant toddler specialists.
Description:
The six essential practices of the Program for Infant and Toddler Care (PITC) promote responsive, caring relationships between caregivers and the infants and toddlers they serve. Research suggests that high-quality early care and education programs for infants and toddlers, specifically relationship-based, support optimal development, including approaches to learning and self-regulation, important skills for school readiness. This training will support understanding and implementation of each of the six essential policies for relationship-based care (Primary Care, Small Groups, Continuity of Care, Individualized Care, Culturally Sensitive Care, and Inclusion) to Child Care and Head Start programs.
