Distant RC Trainer Webinar - September 15, 2020

(First Ever) Advanced Topic

Transference & Countertransference Dynamics with Trauma Survivor Clients - A Deeper Dive

with

Laurie Ann Pearlman, Ph.D. (original author of RC)
and Steve Brown, Psy.D.

Training Description

For several years, RC Trainers have suggested we offer some more ADVANCED topics for RC Trainer webinarss to meet the needs of longtime Trainers with years of clinical experience. We have heard you!  Of course any RC Trainer can attend, but this Trainer Consult Group will be pitched at a higher level.

Transference and Countertransference (T/CT) dynamics are happening moment-to-moment, hour-to-hour, and day-to-day in our programs. While challenging with all clients, these dynamics are especially perplexing and activating with trauma survivors. They evoke powerful feelings in us. We often feel “between a rock and a hard place.” They pose boundary dilemmas and invite boundary transgressions, both small and large.

We fall into these traps when we are not aware of T/CT dynamics, we lack a framework to understand them, or lack the skills to address them in our supervisions and treatment teams.

This ADVANCED webinar will help unpack this complicated topic by:

  • examining T/CT themes in the treatment of survivors
  • providing examples of how we get trapped in, and can extricate ourselves from, unhelpful T/CT dynamics
  • modeling how to work with T/CT themes in supervision

JOIN US FOR THIS NEW AND EXCITING RC OFFERING!

Please note: this is a different topic than originally advertised for the September Distant RC Webinar.
