Texas Regulatory Update

Join AmSpa and our Texas attorney partner, Strasburger & Price, LLP, on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, in Houston, Texas for a very important seminar addressing the recent changes to Texas law that affect medical spas.  New rulings issued by the Texas Medical Board (TMB) have recently changed supervising physician responsibilities and delegation of medical procedures. Our AmSpa attorneys will provide an overview of the recent rulings and analyze the impact of these rulings on medical spas, medical directors, nurses and estheticians in Texas.

  • TMB Rule 193.17 regulating the use of prescription medical devices that directly impact the medical spa business including the 10 step procedure that must be in place in you medical spa including:
    • Medical documentation including written office protocols
    • Responsibilities of a medical director; who can delegate treatments, perform treatments, and supervise
  • Texas Medical Board – what do they look for when auditing a medical spa?
  • Growing concerns for patients and trends in other States
  • Examples of industry claims
  • Preventing lawsuits, consent forms - how do they hold up?
  • How non-competition and non-solicitation clauses help and hurt your practice, and how to make them enforceable.
  • Question & Answer - take this opportunity to ask pertinent questions about your med spa practice, and have a lively discussion with other health care professionals about the pressing issues and current hot topics affecting the med spa industry.
