WWOLF - August 17 at Mahonia Gardens

Willing Workers On Local Farms (WWOLF) is a community program of Central Oregon Locavore Non-Profit with the goal of lending a hand to small farmers while educating the community about the true nature of local food.

How It Works: You will meet the group at Mahonia Gardens in Sisters at 9am. After a round of introductions at the farm, we will split into groups and get to work. We will wrap up at lunchtime and enjoy some food together.

What to Expect: Good times, new friends, and a boots-on-the-ground education about local farming practices. We love dogs, but please leave them at home for this event.

What to Bring: Snacks and water, work gloves, closed-toe shoes, layers for the weather, and sunscreen. Soup and bread will be provided for lunch along with some produce from the farm, or bring your own! We will have a hand washing station and sanitizer for participant use.

About Mahonia Gardens: Mahonia Gardens is a one-acre market garden operating in Sisters, Oregon, dedicated to growing quality produce. We provide food to Sisters and Bend. Labor on the farm is done by hand using ergonomic handtools including broadforks, the wheel hoe, and digging forks to create and maintain beds. While we are not certified organic, we use absolutely no harmful chemicals in our production - no pesticides, herbicides, chemical fertilizers or anything.
