WWOLF - July 5th at Golden Eagle Organics
Willing Workers On Local Farms (WWOLF) WWOLF is a community program of Central Oregon Locavore Non-Profit with the goal of lending a hand to small farmers while educating the community about the true nature of local food.
We have revamped our program to adhere to the recommendations set forth by the Oregon Health Authority, CDC, and Gov. Kate Brown. Rest assured, we are taking every precaution to keep you safe. We hope you join us!
How It Works You will meet the group at Golden Eagle Organics on Bend's east side at 9am. After a round of introductions at the farm, we will split into groups and get to work. We will break for lunch around 12:30 and then wrap up our day.
What to Expect Good times, new friends, and a boots-on-the-ground education about local farming practices. . We love dogs, but please leave them at home for this event.
What to Bring: Snacks and water, work gloves, your favorite hand tool, face mask for times when 6-foot distancing isn't possible, closed-toe shoes, layers for the weather, and sunscreen. Tools and all materials needed to complete tasks will be provided by the farm. Soup and bread will be provided for lunch along with some product from the farm, or bring your own! We will have a hand washing station and sanitizer for participant use.
About Golden Eagle: Golden Eagle Organics is a Central Oregon diversified organic farm. The farm specializes in organic lamb and goat meat, berreis and assorted veggeis. They can be found at the farmer's markets and offer a CSA.
