Willing Workers On Local Farms (WWOLF) is a project of Central Oregon Locavore Non-Profit. We are dedicated to providing assistance to small farms and educating the community about the true nature of local food. Work projects at Rainshadow will include planting carrots, mulching and much, much more!
How it works
Meet at the Rainshadow farm at 10:00am. After a round of introductions we will split into groups and get to work! We’ll break for lunch around noon, then work until 3:00pm. A delicious FREE lunch will be provided courtesy of Rainshadow Organics, Humm Kombucha, Great Harvest Bread Company, Primal Cuts Meat market and Central Oregon Locavore. Please bring your own plate, bowl, cup, and utensils if possible. If you have special dietary needs, please be sure to bring some extra food for yourself, just in case.
What to expect
Good times, new friends, dirty hands, deep satisfaction, and a boots-on-the-ground education about local farming practices. Children are more than welcome with supervision. We love dogs but please leave them at home for this event (thanks for understanding).
What to bring
Work gloves, work shoes, clothing layers for the weather, sunscreen, snacks, water, and a camera.
Just so we don't catch you by surprise, we will ask that you sign a waiver before participating. Waivers will be available at the farm. Please be sure to sign.
