In 2017 the BCCTC focused on promoting women in business and hosted an event, inviting several organizations to celebrate “Women in Business” on International Women’s Day. We not only had a very successful event with 200+ participants and 7 partner associations and chambers of commerce, we also truly represented a global community in multicultural Toronto. Attendees included women entrepreneurs showcasing their businesses, representatives from consulates, and women organizations such as WEConnect International in Canada and the Women's committee of Canada’s Outstanding CEO of the Year and Canada’s Top 40 Under 40–two of Canada’s preeminent business awards addressing the audience. We also hosted a raffle and the proceeds went to our charity of choice Wounded Warriors. We even had a flashmob dance!

Additionally, on February 25th, 2017 we launched our “Woman of the Day” campaign featuring women that we know through the BCCTC. This campaign profiled a variety of women, from entrepreneurs to those established on the corporate ladder, demonstrating the huge amount that has been achieved by women in Canada so far. Their interviews also provide an insight into the issues they have faced and their opinions on issues that women still face in business in 21st Century Canada. We created an infographic of the survey, more info here. We are excited to be running this campaign again this year, with so many exciting women to feature.
