Coleen Cotton - Speaker

Coleen has served God for many years in Children’s Ministry, including six cross-cultural mission trips (three specifically in children’s ministries), as adjunct faculty at a University teaching Child Development, and in leading children’s ministries at seven different churches of various sizes.

Passionate about not giving kids spiritual “baby food”, Coleen cares deeply about meeting both the emotional and spiritual needs of children and preteens.  Her vision is to lead children to Christ and to an ever-deepening spiritual maturity.

What to bring:

CLEARLY LABEL EVERYTHING with your child’s first & last name! If their sleeping bag doesn’t have a stuff sack, please put it in a labeled garbage bag.

  • Plenty of old, WARM clothes (cabins are heated but camp is much colder than here!)
  • Sleeping bag, pillow, and towel
  • Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, etc.)
  • Medications that are necessary. (Please make sure that all medications are labeled with your child’s name and clearly written instructions.  Personally give medications to the nurse at registration when you arrive at church for departure.)
  • Flashlight
  • Snow gear (boots, hats, gloves, etc.). More than one pair of gloves is strongly recommended!  Please have these packed in a plastic bag labeled with your child’s name.
  • Bible & pen
  • Spending money. The Apple Tree Snack Shop is open during the weekend. $5 should be enough for candy; additional money is needed for souvenirs, etc.
  • Camera (optional)
  • Cans of Silly String (optional, 2 can MAX/camper)
  • Ice Skates & Snowboards (optional) The camp provides all other winter sports gear, including sleds & tubes.

More Information

  • Arrive at the church on Friday NO LATER THAN 1:00 pm so we can load up and leave on schedule at 2:00 pm.
  • Provide lunch for your child before departure. (A light snack will be provided for the 2½ hour trips to and from the camp.)
  • Campers can bring electronic devices (no cell phones) for the bus trip, but their use is NOT PERMITTED at camp.
  • CAMPERS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO BRING CELL PHONES! In an emergency, parents can contact the Camp Director 24/7 via his cell phone (570-406-0625).
  • Our 18th annual Manly Man run has become a favorite tradition and is a short winter weather run in crazy attire. Guys wear shorts, socks, and crazy accessories.  Girls wear summer tops, shorts, socks and crazy accessories. Boys and Girls run separately.  Participation is completely voluntary.
  • Parents should plan to attend the special parent meeting on Sunday at 4:00 pm (prior to the campers’ return) for insights into what they learned during the weekend and how to talk about it with them at home.
