Harvest Fest Evening Program and Afternoon Global Conversations

You are invited to attend some or all of Elmbrook Church's annual conference on global mission, "Harvestfest." This annual event has been a true catalyst for informing, inspiring, and involving people in local and global mission. This year will be a unique opportunity for leaders of many different churches to gain a new global perspective and to learn ways to motivate congregations in their unique mission.

This year's Harvestfest will center around a historic global event: Cape Town 2010: The Third Global Congress on World Evangelization. Using near real-time video technology, we will be showing the major addresses coming out of Cape Town, and will use guest international leaders and missionaries as panelists responding to the issues. We invite you to attend as many sessions as you would like in two venues:

"Harvestfest" (the evening programs): 7pm-8:30pm, M,T,W,Th, Oct. 18, 19, 20, 21; Elmbrook sanctuary

"Harvestfest Global Conversations": 75 minute open forums; Elmbrook Fellowship Hall

The eight "Harvestfest Global Conversations" will each include a video feed of one of the addresses coming out of Cape Town, and will engage us in a highly interactive dialogue with a panel of international guests and missionaries coming to us from all over the world: Romania, Rwanda, Argentina, Germany, Nigeria, Haiti, the Philippines, and more.

All the addresses coming out of Cape Town 2010 deal with one of  six major issues for global mission today (see below). The specifc topics are not assigned to specific Harvestfest Global Conversations.

Truth: Making the case for the Truth of Christ in a globalistic and pluralized world.
Reconciliation: Building the Peace of Christ in our divided and broken world.
Living the Love of Christ with people of other faiths.
Discerning the Will of Christ for 21st century world evangelization.
Calling the Church of Christ back to humility, integrity and simplicity.
Partnering in the Body of Christ towards a new global equilibrium.
