Tour of Kohler Power Systems

This month we travel to the headquarters of Kohler Power Systems Northeast of Kohler in Mosel.  The Kohler Co. was founded in 1873 and made cast iron and steel implements for farmers.  Most employees were immigrants. They are now one of the oldest and largest privatly held companies in the U.S.

Kohler Power Systems has 6 manufacturing plants worldwide.  Two of them are in Wisconsin (Mosel & Saukville).  Accross all of the plants, they manufacture Industrial Generators (4-3250kW), Marine Generators (4-200kW),  Residential Generators (5-20kW), Light Commercial Generators (40-150kW), Mobile Generators (5-20kW), ATS (Auto Transfer Switch) to 4000 amps, Switchgear and Controls.

At the Mosel plant, they do:

  • Assembly and testing of generators from 4-3250kW.
  • Metal Fabrication
  • Electronics, ATS & Switchgear assembly and testing.
During this Tour we will see (amongst other things):

1. The laser and Water  jet foam cutting areas.
2. Assembly and Testing of the Generators
3.Final enclosure Packaging
4. And the ATS and Switchgear Manufacturing and testing Areas
5. The Distributor training facilities (time permitting)

Because we are touring an industrial plant, we ask that you wear closed toe shoes and bring safety glasses if possible.

Kohler Power Systems has the right to refuse admittance of anyone registered for this tour.
