At January 21st meeting of The Society of Television Engineers,  President and CEO of Ross Video will clarify the current drivers and potential roadblocks, together with an overview of the various schemes under discussion, including encapsulation and compression techniques for the migration from discrete signal distribution systems to common IP infrastructures in the production environment.

What are the real drivers behind this transition; they are clear in transmission and inter facility transport, but less clear in a live production environment. Current compression and encapsulation schemes will be compared as well as burgeoning schemes that are under discussion.

For video engineers and systems architects, IP is a brave new world – it’s a challenge for many of us and our counterparts in the IT world have limited understanding of the needs of live media production. There is little doubt that this transition will occur and there are already a number of early adopters, the objective of this presentation is to provide an unbiased view of the options and methodologies available in the near term, and possible future developments.

Dinner will feature: Organic Field Greens with Bleu Cheese, Candied Walnuts & Raspberry Vinaigrette, choice of English Cut London Broil with roasted shallot 
sauce or Fresh Roasted Salmon with dill butter sauce served with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Roasted Seasonal Vegetables or Pasta Primavera penne pasta with roasted vegetable marinara, warm rolls and butter, coffee, tea and/or iced tea and for dessert Chocolate Cake.
Dinner will feature: An Organic Field Greens Salad with Bleu Cheese, candied Walnuts, and Rasberry Vinaigrette followed by a  choice of Prime Rib Au Jus OR Fresh Roasted Salmon with dill butter sauce  served with Rice Pilaf and Roasted Seasonal Vegetables or Pasta Primavera penne pasta with roasted vegetable marinara, warm rolls and butter, coffee, tea and/or iced tea and for dessert Tiramisu.
