Using Light-Weight Compression
By Steve Holmes
Senior Video Application Engineer at Tektronix
At The Society of Television Engineers
The media industry faces the challenge of receiving and delivering a growing number of file-based media assets originating from various sources and in a variety of formats and quality levels. Problems within the assets when they used on multiple delivery platforms affect all consumers so it is crucial to verify the quality of each before distribution.
Content Analysis for Quality Control (QC) of file-based video ingested from different sources, encoded at different bit rates / formats and utilizing different compression standards for SD/HD, VOD or IPTV delivery presents considerable challenges to QC teams.
At the October STE event, Steve Holmes Senior Video Applications Engineer at Tektronix will cover the basics of file-based video and ABR content as well automating quality control of material.
