BEATING THE INTERNET "SPEED LIMIT"
By John King of Aspera
At The Society of Television Engineers

- My Internet provider just gave me more bandwidth.  Why is it still slow?
- Do I have to go back to shipping hard drives to move my 4K content?
- Protocols.  What difference do they make and why should I care?
- How much will gold be worth in 2015?

Answers to at least THREE of these questions will be provided by Sr. Sales Engineer, John King of Aspera as he describes some real-world examples. John works closely with customers to architect and deploy high-speed file transport technologies that support complex end-to-end file-based media workflows. His career in video started at KEYT, Santa Barbara moving to Manager of Media Services at SDI media and later Director of IT Services at ZOO Digital Group before joining Aspera.

Aspera, an IBM company, is the creator of next-generation transport technologies that move the world’s data at maximum speed regardless of file size, transfer distance and network conditions. Based on its patented, Emmy® award-winning FASP™ protocol, Aspera software fully utilizes existing infrastructures to deliver the fastest, most predictable file-transfer experience. Aspera’s core technology delivers unprecedented control over bandwidth, complete security and uncompromising reliability

Dinner will feature Garden Salad with Ranch and Italian on the tables, the choice of Turkey with Stuffing or Chef's Choice of Fish or Pasta Primavera, fresh seasonal vegetables, garlic mashed potatoes, warm rolls and butter, coffee, tea and/or iced tea and for dessert pumpkin pie with whipped cream.
