2097 – Rethinking Christian Education: This course is designed to examine current trends, methodologies, and practices in Christian education to determine their validity and alliance with the Scriptures. This course isrequired for instructor recertification every five years.

5007 – Leading Change: This course is designed to help participants identify, develop, and implement skills for leading change and transition in the local church. 7001 – Building Healthy Churches: This course is designed to help leaders in local churches understand the importance of being a healthy church in the community. Various biblical principles shall be studied to effectively move a stagnant ministry to a flourishing congregation.

8035 – African American Church and Social Justice: This course will focus, explore and discuss the role of the African American Church in the struggle for the liberation of people and social justice issues.

Seminar – Forgiveness: The Faith to Forgive: This seminar will examine the challenging topic of forgiveness. It will focus on the central role of faith in reconciling our offenses. The course will seek to help you look within and transform experiences of past hurt into platforms for present and future hope.

Children’s Laboratory (children ages 4-11): The Laboratory School provides a safe learning environment of fellowship and fun for learning and understanding the Word of God. Daily modules on selected themes will be offered to expose children to Christ and principles of discipleship.

The course will examine character traits of disciples and explore discipleship methods of Jesus. Emphasis will be placed on discovering the difference between discipleship and church membership.

8012 – Ministering To Hurting Children/13 Reasons Why Not: This course will emphasize ministering to children who are suffering with emotional and psychological trauma. Students will learn how to use an assessment tool and develop strategies for ministering to hurting children in the local church.

8033 – Church and Society: This course will seek to discover and determine the place of the Christian in the context of society. S0021 – Conflict Management In Ministry: This course will look at the church as a living organism of interconnected relationships and recognize that conflicts do occur. Students will look at ways to avoid and manage the conflicts that will seriously interrupt the ministry of the church.

2099 A- D/2100 – Principles and Procedures for Deans of Christian Education or Guidelines for Recertification of Deans (Deans are required to recertify every 5 years) – This will be a hybrid course designed for deans seeking recertification and individuals seeking to become certified deans. These courses are designed to acquaint deans of Christian education with their responsibilities and impress upon them their vital role in the National Baptist Convention’s educational program at all levels. All aspects of the dean’s responsibilities will be addressed as well as contemporary issues and trends in Christian education will be discussed as a portion of this course.
