Province VIII Daughters of the King Retreat 2015 

Join us in Malibu, California for the 2015 DOK Province VIII Retreat:   "Love Divine, All Loves Excelling"  from Friday through Sunday, 13 - 15 February.  All Daughters-at-Large and members of DOK Chapters in Province VIII are invited.

Our retreat will take place at beautiful Serra Retreat Center, a Franciscan monastery in the hills of Malibu, California. Serra is well-known for its serene vistas, walking trails, labyrinth and private areas for meditation and contemplation overlooking the Pacific Ocean. 

Our retreat leader is the Rev. Mary C. Earle.  In 1995 Mary was hospitalized with acute pancreatitis.  When she was able to return home, she still faced a long recovery.  The busy life she had known was gone, and she had to begin again.  Using St. Benedict's Rule she addressed changes in resting and activity levels, food restrictions and other requirements to build a Rule of Life with God at the center.  Mary is a spiritual director, a member of the associated faculty at the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest where she was awarded the Durstan R. McDonald Award for Excellence in Teaching.  She is Author-in-Residence at the Center for Faith in the Workplace at St. Mark's in San Antonio, Texas and author of Broken Body, Healing Spirit; Beginning Again; co-author of Praying with the Celtic Saints; The Desert Mothers; and Holy Companions:  Spiritual Practices from the Celtic Saints.  Her latest book is Julian of Norwich:  Selections from Revelations of Divine Love.

We will be joined by Province VIII DOK Chaplain, the Rt. Rev. Diane Jardine Bruce, Bishop Suffragan of the Diocese of Los Angeles.  Bishop Diane is the first Daughter of the King to be consecrated Bishop in the Episcopal Church.
