What does kindergarten science look like through the lens of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)? How do you balance the need for children to be playful and creative, and yet still meet the rigorous standards of curriculum? How do you go about changing your lessons to reflect designing and engineering that is appropriate for kindergarten? Where do you begin?
Let’s introduce ourselves to the themes and concepts for kindergarten set by Next Generation Science. In this two-day course we will look at launching ideas, the design loop, maker spaces, material lists, book lists, resources, websites and more. We will try some hands-on activities and work on plans for units for your own classroom.
If you have any materials or work you have started, please bring that or any pictures along to share and develop further.
Event date: July 25 & 26, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
