Welcoming Special Guest and Keynote

Mary Lauby

She is currently an independent consultant, working on organizational development and sexual and domestic violence policy and practice with clients in several states. She has led strategic planning efforts, conducted research and strengthened organizational culture and practice. Lauby has worked with boards of directors to strengthen and align governance and leadership with mission, and to build successful development capacity.

As a state coalition director for nearly 20 years in Massachusetts and Wisconsin, Lauby solidified the public policy advocacy role of these coalitions resulting in significant local, state and federal policy and practice changes. Mary has served as an appointee to numerous federal, state and local boards, commissions and advisory groups, including the National Advisory Council on Violence Against Women, the Massachusetts’ Governor’s Commission to End Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence, and the Blue Cross Blue Shield Advisory Committee of the UW Madison Medical School.

Lauby has also served on numerous local, state and national boards and committees including, The National Network to End Domestic Violence, National Center for Survivor Agency and Justice, the National Domestic Violence Hotline, and The Firearm Advisory Committee of the Medical College of Wisconsin. Lauby staffed the Governor’s Domestic Abuse Council while the head of the Domestic Violence Unit at the Wisconsin Department of Health and Social Services where she was responsible for overseeing the state domestic violence grant programs and program development for statewide domestic abuse services. Mary served as the Executive Director of Dane County Advocates for Battered Women in Madison, Wisconsin and worked with the Area Agency on Aging in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
