Lunchtime Insights: Exploring the Community Accountability Model for Domestic Abuse Prevention

We invite you to our upcoming workshop series, "Lunchtime Insights," where you will have the opportunity to learn about the Community Accountability Model and how it plays a crucial role in addressing and preventing violence in our community.

We will explore the conscious and unconscious motivations that drive the desire for control while recognizing that violence does not occur in isolation. From early human development, society subtly promotes the idea of how "real men" should act.

We'll dive into how this education begins in families and continues through friendships and peer groups, and how the family plays a role in developing male privilege, even for men who experience oppression based on race, ethnicity, class, or sexual orientation. This indoctrination extends beyond families and infiltrates our broader society. They are reinforced by various institutions, including religious groups, social services, legal systems, and workplaces, as they shape our societal norms and are often led by men who define moral and ethical standards.

Join us for Lunchtime Insights: Exploring the Community Accountability Model for Domestic Abuse Prevention. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
