United Way of Southwest Virginia presents the 2022 Rural Summit for community, education, and inspiration into Resilience, Equity and Social-Emotional Learning, October 27 and 28. Registration is now open for both days of live, in-person workshops and keynotes. Summit attendees will have the opportunity to reconnect in-person, and, for new attendees, to connect for the very first time with a state-wide community of leaders and practitioners.
Trauma survivor, author and U.S. Army officer Christina Meredith will deliver a keynote speech that will illustrate the crucial role teachers play in the lives of students, especially those experiencing abuse. Educators saved Christina’s life, allowing her to graduate from highschool and escape homelessness after aging out of foster care. Attendees will learn the importance of support systems in school and how genuine kindness can change the lives of students.
Please note: You are only registering for Thursday, October 27th.
