The Keys to Leading Effective and Productive Meetings

A virtual workshop facilitated by Mel Brown, Ph.D. President/CEO, Mel Brown & Associates

Turning time spent in meetings into productive time – time that produces sustainable results – has to be a priority for any effective leader or manager – and like any other leadership or management skill, meeting management can be learned.

During this live, interactive webinar, participants will learn how to lead meetings that start and end on time, solve problems, produce actionable outcomes, and increase your team’s follow through.

Who Should Take this Webinar? To determine if this webinar is for you, answer the following questions:

  • Do you ever feel you spend most of your time at work going from one meeting to another and the reason you are not more productive at work is because you are in too many meetings?
  • Do your meetings start late and fail to end on time?
  • Do those in attendance feel that meetings are a waste of time?
  • Do spend time waiting for everyone to get there before you start the meeting?
  • Do you agree with Joseph Stilwell’s statement, “A meeting is an event at which minutes are kept and the hours are lost”?
  • Do your employees fail to follow through on assignments made during meetings? If you answered “yes” to any of the above questions, then this webinar is for you!”

Training Dates:

  • June 2, 2021 (2:30 pm – 4:30 pm CT)
  • July 6, 2021 (1:30 pm – 3:30 pm CT)

Creating a Culture of Accountability

A virtual workshop facilitated by Mel Brown, Ph.D. President/CEO, Mel Brown & Associates

This webinar was created as a presentation during the National Partnership for Juvenile Services’ (NPSJ) National Virtual Leadership Institute. Since the responses to the presentation included statements such as, “You   hit a home run,” “Excellent Presentation,” and “Everyone who supervises anyone could greatly benefit from attending this webinar,” on January 28, 2021, we created a webinar and made it available to those who did not participant in the National Virtual Leadership Institute and, in order to maintain a quality, highly interactive learning environment. We are offering it again for those who were unable to attend the January webinar.

Unfortunately, most people view accountability as something that belittles them or happens when performance   wanes, problems develop, or results fail to materialize. Leaders who effectively develop a culture of account- ability pave the road to success rather than one that provides an excuse for failure.

During this webinar, participants will:

  • Review the definition of culture and ways to create or change an organization’s culture,
  • Focus on developing a culture of accountability by examining the elements and the four pillars of account- ability and also following the 6 steps to building an accountability culture, and
  • Understand both the consequences of failing to confront poor staff performance as well as the positive results of creating a culture of accountability.”

The webinar MBA will be offering will not be just a recording of the previous presentations. It will be an actual   live, interactive training event.
