Many times, the organization’s laptop or QuickBooks files are handed from reluctant treasurer to reluctant treasurer with no training, no data entry manual, and a new logic instituted by each person that has touched the books through the years. No wonder your financial reports don’t make sense!

For the past 15 years, Mona Fluitt has used QuickBooks to manage the financials of nonprofit organizations ranging in size from $20,000 to over $50 million. Join Mona for this workshop where you will learn QuickBooks from the very beginning.

Topics include:

• Understanding how QuickBooks thinks and works in order to use it correctly
• Creating a new QuickBooks file
• Building and keeping clean participant/donor and vendor databases
• Building and using items and classes for better reports, better tracking, better business decisions
• Tracking outstanding gift pledges and program fees
• Reconciliation and basic reports

 Important notes:

• This hands-on workshop teaches QuickBooks Desktop version. We will not discuss QuickBooks Online version.
• Participants must bring their own laptop computer with QuickBooks Desktop installed. The year or version does not matter.
• While this workshop is suitable for any type of organization, class exercises and examples will be of a fictional youth sports organization.
