Oakcliff is bringing back the very popular Clinegatta format. The Two-Day Clinic is included in the entry fee for invited skippers and crew. Independant sailors maybe accepted for the Clinic by registering below. Frequently teams are missing a team member or two and this is an exeptional way to sail with some top level teams and learn from your team mates and Dave Perry.

The May Grade 3 Match Race Regatta is an wonderful way to begin the season against top notch competiton and  an opportunity to race in the Swedish Match 40s, the boats used for the Oakcliff International. The event will not only be thrilling for each team, but also very useful to teams competing in the GRAND SLAM.

The winner of The May grade 3 Invitational Clinegatta will receive an invitation to compete in three of the four Grand Slam Series: Chicago Grand Slam, August 18-20; The Detroit Cup, August 24-27 and Oakcliff International, August 30 - September 3. 

 

The coach for this Clinegatta is Sally Barkow. 

Sally has been racing full-time since 2002 and prior to joining Team SCA for the Volvo Ocean Race 2014-15 she had been sailing on the Olympic circuit for ten years, competing in the Beijing Games. Between Olympic events she fielded a competitive international match race team. Sally was a helmsman/trimmer onboard Team SCA and the InPort tactician playing a key role in helping the team to secure third position overall in the InPort Series and a historic

leg win. Her career highlights include being named US Rolex Yachtswoman of the Year in 2005 and 2007, Women’s Match Racing World Champion in 2004 and 2005 and holding the Rolex Women’s keelboat championship title for three years. In 2016, Sally is the only female helm to receive a World Match Race Tour card. As a participating founder of The Magenta Project, she continues to build female talent to compete on the Tour for 2017 in the M32 catamarans for the World Match Race Tour Championship.

 

Priority will be granted to skippers that have at least one season of prior match racing experience and based on the ISAF World Ranking List. Special consideration will be given to collegiate and women’s teams in addition to teams traveling a distance of more than 500 kilometers. Please send your reguest for invitation at least one month prior to the event.

Volunteers a get front row seat to the action. Choose from housing, hospitality, race committee, umpire assistance and more. Once registered, the Oakcliff staff will contact you shortly to confirm your request and participation.
