8:30 – 9:45 am Session I   LEARNING HOW WE WORK TOGETHER BEST: Building camaraderie, cohesiveness, and a sense of purpose within the District and the Area. Leader Department CEU-OM

10:00 – 11:15 am Session II   MILK SHAKES & PLUGGED DUCTS: A mother’s own hands on her breasts can be a key component in resolving or avoiding many common breastfeeding challenges! Find out how you can empower mothers to help their babies and themselves in circumstances involving: newborns, slow growth, too much or too little milk, rule-based breastfeeding, gassiness, spitting up/reflux, persistent nipple and/or breast pain, blebs and recurrent plugged ducts and/or mastitis. Sue Iwinski L-CERP CEU-BE

11:30 – 12:30 pm LUNCH AND NEW LEADER CELEBRATION

12:45 – 2:00 pm Session III

• (A) NEW BEGINNINGS: This session is designed for New Leaders and Leader Applicantswho feel like they need a little LOVE. This is a great opportunity to talk with other Leaders and Leader Applicants to share what "works" and doesn't. Come and meet the new Leader Mentor for La Leche League of Connecticut. • (B) KEEPING THE FLAME ALIVE: Handling What are the benefits of long-term leadership? What LIFE skills have we learned from being a Leader? How has LLL made us the mother and woman we are today? Amy Shaw CEU-OM

 2:15 - 3:30 pm Session IV    OPEN UP THE TEXTBOOKS--CASE REVIEW: Three La Leche Leaders will discuss in-depth cases on some of the  "Hot Topics" in breastfeeding. How would you support this mother? Fellow Leaders will get a chance to discuss their own important cases to get more ideas on how best to help mothers seeking out La Leche League. 3:30 pm Pick Up Silent Auction and Basket Winnings

CREDENTIALING

Continuing Education Recognition Points (CERPS) will be available for lactation consultants and lactation consultant candidates only for Session II. Fee is $5.

La Leche League Alliance for Breastfeeding Education Continuing Education Units (LLL-CEUs) will be awarded to Leaders in attendance at no additional fee.

REGISTRATION

Registration fee is $29 and includes luncheon buffet. Registration form must be received or submitted online by March 13, 2015 in order to receive the $29 price.

Registration fee after March 13th will be $35.

Walk-in registration fee the day of the workshop is $35, however, lunch may not be available.

 OVERNIGHT ACCOMODATIONS

A limited number of rooms are available at the FOUR POINTS SHERATON HOTEL at a special overnight rate of $89 (plus tax) single or double occupancy for attendees of the Leader Enrichment Workshop.  Call the hotel directly at (203) 238-2380 and ask for the La Leche League of Connecticut block.  This rate is not guaranteed after March 13, 2015
