Family Geology School:  

FOSSIL -- We Dig It!

Did you know: 

Science  is best learned through hands-on experiences and field studies.  The Pacific Northwest offers some of the best geology and environmental "lab experience" in the world.   

Don't miss this opportunity to help your students pique their sciencific curiosity and grow their appreciation of the Creator's  intelligent design through this great learning adventure.  

Itinerary: (order TBA but all these activities will be included)

• Driving tour to/from Western and Central WA  via I-90 and returning Hwy 2 identifying key geological features  
• Orientation to fossils and the fossil record
• Activities at Ginkgo pertrified forest / Vantage
• Fossil dig at Republic
• Optional hiking and other activities
• Fun learning together as a family and with other homeschooling families 

Cost:  Program fee$60/family if registered by 5/1; $75/family after 5/1;  student attending with another family: $30/individual if registered by 5/1; $40/individual after 5/1.  Additional fee @ Stone Rose for fossil dig + digging tools $6/person or $2.50/person dig only (no tools provided), free for observing parent.  Family will also need a WA State Discover pass ($10/one day or $30/annual). 

Pre-trip packet:  information and readings, plus pre & post trip activities for students working on science lab credit will be emailed after registration.  Additional costs for lodging, state park entry, food, transportation, and personal incidentals.
