New Jersey YMCA State Alliance   Recognition Celebration

Please join us for this annual event recognizing YMCA Champions in the areas of Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility.

The following friends of the YMCA will be honored:

Jody D'Agostini, SOMERSET COUNTY YMCA - Social Responsibility Champion

Jody was selected as Social Responsibility Champion for her leadership in advancing philanthropy, addressing the critical health and safety issue of drug use among teens, and being instrumental in producing the first merger of two New Jersey Ys. Her advocacy for, and leadership of, social change stand as outstanding examples of Y volunteer leadership at its finest.

Katie Porter, FROST VALLEY YMCA - Healthy Living Champion

Katie was selected as Healthy Living Champion for her work to advance health by expanding opportunities for outdoor recreation for all, including those with special needs, and bringing enhanced nutrition education to Frost Valley campers. Her broadly recognized leadership, including her elected and appointed government roles, in enhancing and expanding parks and recreation areas for all are exceptional achievements that have clearly advanced healthy living for children, teens and adults of all ages.

Youth Volunteers - Youth Development Champions

Youth Volunteers , each nominated by their local YMCA, will be recognized.  We celebrate these unsung heroes of our local YMCAs who bring our core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility to life through their dedication and energy. Helping young people understand the importance of service to others has always been at the core of our mission. It is an honor to say thanks to these outstanding young men and women.

Ralph Steinhardt, YMCA OF METUCHEN, EDISON, WOODBRIDGE & SOUTH AMBOY - Martin Bartner Award

Ralph is being honored with the Martin Bartner Award for his many years of Y leadership in opening new paths of understanding and communication with and within diverse and new groups, leading to extending Y programs and services to more people from diverse backgrounds. Ralph’s leadership in strengthening partnerships and building new relationships for the greater good of our communities are exceptional examples of Y volunteer leadership at its finest.
