Prairie Association Fall Meeting 2016

Dear Prairie Association,

You are warmly invited to the 2016 Fall Meeting of the Prairie Association on Saturday, September 24. Our hosts are the members and friends of the Mayfield Congregational* United Church of Christ in rural Sycamore. The gathering will run from 9:00—2:00 with registration beginning at 8:30 am.

We are meeting earlier than usual this fall to take advantage of warm September weather and to have the best opportunity to view the workings of the Mayfield Church’s Monarch Butterfly Waystation before the fall temperatures arrive. Our host pastor, Rev. Martha Brunell, writes:

The day’s worship and activities will be focused in our waystation, highlighting this earth sanctuary, our spiritual learnings as we participate in the critical restoration of habitat for the Monarchs’ annual migration, and modest planting actions we can all take at church, around home, and in our neighborhoods for the sake of the Monarchs and ourselves. Weather permitting, this Association meeting will be held outside and inside. If you have a portable lawn chair, bring it along for the outside portions. Be prepared for a delicious Mayfield lunch that will acknowledge our critical dependence on all the pollinators including the Monarchs. We hope to welcome young and old to Mayfield on September 24!
