Cost

The Buddha's teachings are considered to be priceless, and in keeping with the teachings and spirit of generosity or dana, this weekend of teachings is freely offered.

For those who wish to make a monetary gift, there will be two baskets set out at the retreat. One basket will be for Metta Forest Monastery. Donations to the monastery support the community of monastics who are solely dependent upon lay people's generosity.

There will be a separate basket for Victoria IMS to support operational costs such as venue rental, teacher travel and accommodation. Your donations to Victoria IMS make it possible for future retreats and teachings to be offered.

Please offer what is right for you.

The Five Faculties

Study and Meditation Retreat
with
Venerable Thanissaro Bhikkhu

(Ajaan Geoff)

The five faculties — conviction, persistence, mindfulness, concentration, and discernment — are a list of qualities that the Buddha said are essential for awakening. They cover both the practice of meditation and the conduct of daily life in a way conducive to release from suffering.
This course, through talks, readings, discussions, and meditation, will treat the practical aspects of how to develop these faculties both off the cushion and on.

Ajaan Geoff is a senior monk in the Thai Forest tradition of Theravada Buddhism and the abbot of Metta Forest Monastery in San Diego County, CA. Appreciated equally for his scholarship and pragmatic approach to practice, he is deeply committed to helping others understand and apply the Buddha's teachings.

Thank you,

Kiko Brown (Registrar)
