Driving Directions

Lot #5 is the closest place to park.

Please use the building entrance closest to the parking lot and look for the Queenswood/Arbutus rooms on the ground floor.

UVic is on several public transit routes and Cadboro Commons is not far from the loop at which all of the buses stop.

Cost

Because the Buddha's teachings are considered to be priceless, and in keeping with the teachings and spirit of generosity or dana, this retreat is freely offered. Donations are welcomed. 

  

There will be two dana baskets set out at the retreat. One basket will be for you to offer dana to support Ajahn Pasanno's requisites and a separate basket for organizational costs incurred by Victoria IMS. The suggested donation for organizational costs for this two-day event is $40. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Venerable Ajahn Pasanno

 

 

The Victoria IMS is honoured that Ajahn Pasanno will offer teachings in Victoria, BC.

Ajahn Pasanno is the Guiding Elder of Abhayagiri Forest Monastery in Redwood, California. He served as co-abbot of Abhayagiri with Ajahn Amaro for 13 years and as sole abbot for 8 years. Prior to his time in California, Ajahn Pasanno resided in Thailand for 24 years. He was an early resident and then abbot of the International Forest Monastery, a monastery for westerners, established by Ajahn Chah. In the spring of 2018, Ajahn Pasanno stepped back from his role of abbot. He has been on silent winter retreat at Birken Forest Monastery near Kamloops, BC.

Ajahn Pasanno is the author and co-author of several books. His numerous dhamma talks are available online, freely offered at https://forestsangha.org and https://www.abhayagiri.org/talks.
