Seeing for Oneself

Meditation Retreat with

Brock Brown

The Buddha taught that our mind can be our best friend or our enemy. He encouraged us to see for ourselves what thoughts, words, and actions lead to peace and liberation.

On this day of mindful awareness we will investigate and reflect on how our mind can be our friend, how we can cultivate beneficial qualities of the heart and mind, and how we can see and experience this for ourselves.

There will be periods of sitting and walking meditation, chanting and guided meditations including Chi Kung exercises.

This day-long is appropriate for both beginner and experienced meditators.

Brock Brown is a founding member and chair of the Victoria Insight Meditation Society where he teaches and leads meditation retreats. He has been dedicated to the study and practice of the Buddha’s teachings for the past 30 years, and is inspired by the Thai Forest Tradition. He is a graduate of the Spirit Rock Dedicated Practitioners Program and the Community Dharma Leader Program.
