ADAD: Street Drugs and Surviving Through Crisis Training 

Content: Participants will gain awareness on the current drug trends in the community and gain knowledge and the effectiveness of suicide prevention and interventions. Participants will be able to provide resources to assist  individuals dealing with suicide ideation and tendencies.

Facilitators: Gary Shimabukuro, CPS, Laulima Hawaii owner has provided drug education for businesses, schools, apprenticeship programs, labor organizations, management groups, law enforcement agencies, military personnel and other organizations since 1978. He was a clinical supervisor for a substance abuse treatment program, a former certified trainer, and "Trainer of Trainers" for the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA).

Brent Oto, MA, CPS is the current Suicide Prevention Program Manager for the Army Substance Abuse Program. He has worked with the military and civilian population for over 20 years. He conducts numerous trainings and education services for the military members, civilians, and families.

Target Audience: Certified Substance Abuse Counselors (CSAC), Certified Prevention Specialists (CPS), and applicants; those with other ADAD professional credentials; and anyone involved in the human services field.
