Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division Training: Ethics for Substance Abuse Counselors 

Content The spirit and intent of the substance abuse treatment Code of Ethics will be reviewed and discussed, as well as a model for critical thinking.  Selected ethical dilemmas will be presented and discussed using a small group format.

Instructor: Eddie Mersereau LCSW, CSAC. Eddie has over 20 years of experience working with a wide array of people, communities, and groups. His focus areas of practice have been in substance abuse and behavioral health. He holds a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Hawaii, School of Social Work where he is a part-time instructor. Eddie also holds a license in clinical social work (LCSW) and is certified as a substance abuse counselor (CSAC) in the state of Hawaii. Eddie actively engages in a number of community groups and boards such as Hawaii Recovery Oriented Systems of Care (ROSC) and the Hawaii Community Action Program (HCAP). 

Target Audience: Certified Substance Abuse Counselors (CSAC), and CSAC applicants.
