Georgia State Board of Optometry Approved Injections Certification 

Developed and Presented by 

This 4-Day, thirty (30) hour education and training event is the only Georgia State Board of Optometry approved coursework for the certification for use of injectables. This course has been developed by and will be presented by Southern College of Optometry. This will be the only injection certification training event offered in 2022. 

Additional to the thirty hours of certification training, one (1) hour of Georgia Laws and Rules Credit will be provided for a total of thirty-one (31) continuing education credits that will count towards your relicensure in 2023.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM 

Registration & Fees: 

• No Onsite Registration! 

• Registration fees are $2,000 for GOA and AOA Members or $2,500 for NON GOA or AOA Members.  To qualify for Member Rate you must be a member in good standing of the Georgia Optometric Association or the American Optometric Association as of July 15, 2022. Membership status will be verified upon registration. 

• Young OD Savings* - GOA or AOA Members 0-5 Years out of School, the GOA is offering a discount of $750 off your registration fee.  USE DISCOUNT CODE: YOD025 to receive this savings.  *Discount only applies to GOA or AOA Young OD Members. 

• Registration fee covers entrance into lecture hall, all registration and wet lab materials plus meals listed on the coursework schedule. 

• ALL FEES MUST BE PAID PRIOR TO ATTENDING THE MEETING. Payment plans can be arranged through the GOA Office, please contact Vanessa.  
  
  
• Cancellation Policy: There will be a $100.00 Administrative Fee for all cancellations.  We will gladly issue refunds for cancellations made on or prior to July 22, 2022. No refunds will be issued after July 22, 2022.  

EDUCATION POLICY AND CERTIFICATION SCHEDULE 

• The Georgia State Board of Optometry has approved all thirty (30) hours of this coursework as credit toward relicensure. 

• SCO follows COPE standards, one (1) hour of credit equates to fifty (50) minutes of lecture. 

• Valid name badges will serve as admission to the continuing education and wet lab and must be worn by attendees at all times.  

• Entrance and Exit of coursework will be monitored to meet regulations.  
  
  
• Attendees may only be absent from any class for a maximum of ten (10) minutes per hour of lecture.

*Wet labs are limited in size. Based upon attendance will determine the number of labs we will offer that day to accommodate all attendees.  Attendees are dismissed upon the conclusion of their skills labs session.  

In addition to specified dinner and lunch breaks, additional breaks will be given throughout each day, beverages and snacks will also be available throughout the day.
