Deerfield, MA Photo Tour

Test of Time Photography and NH Tours are once again partnering up to present another one of kind photography experience.  We invite you to join us on May 18, 2013 for our photography tour to Deerfield, MA.  Our itinerary includes three locations during this daylong bus trip to photograph and enjoy.

Our first stop and a wonderful location for photo exploration is HISTORIC DEERFIELD, an authentic 18th-century English settlement in the Connecticut River Valley of Massachusetts.  This village features beautifully restored homes with period architecture and furnishings.  There are multiple displays of colonial era trades and crafts, gardens, farms and much more to photograph and enjoy.   After the field photography session we will then enjoy a lunch at the Deerfield Village Inn.

From lunch we will move to next location MAGIC WINGS BUTTERFLY CONSERVATORY an 8,000 sq. foot indoor tropical environment that is home to over 4,000 free flying butterflies.  We shift our photographic sights from the idyllic old New England village to this wonderful menagerie of critters and color.  This is a terrific location to practice close-up and macro photography.  In addition to the butterflies, the exhibit includes many other species of insects, reptiles and birds.  All fun photo subjects!

Our third location is the iconic YANKEE CANDLE company.  Here we can capture the colors and scenes of the candle making process or you can put your camera down and get in touch with your inner shopper. With over 400,000 candles on the shelves you can shoot or shop till you drop.

 

Price: $99/person  (includes photography instruction aboard bus, on-site photography assistance, all admissions, lunch at historic Deerfield Inn, roundtrip bus transportation, all taxes and gratuities.

The Deerfield Inn is a classic, full-service original country inn built in 1884 that welcome travelers from around the world.  The  Restaurant & Tavern offers relaxed fine dining with market driven menus featuring local produce and local draft beers.

Salad:  Bitter Green Salad with buttermilk dressing

Entrée: (make your selection when your register)

(1) New England Beef Stew. Stewed beef over housemade pasta with wild mushrooms, pearl onions and carrots

(2) Herb Crusted White Fish. Tender and flaky white fish topped with toasted herbed crumbs over rice pilaf with a sundried tomato beurre blanc

(3) Individual Vegetable Lasagna. Housemade pasta layered with a puree of heirloom white beans, greens, roasted seasonal vegetables and a cream sauce, finished with garden fresh sage and freshly grated nutmeg

Dessert:  Famous Deerfield Inn Indian Pudding with whipped cream

Register Now!PLEASE NOTE: Our photography education program features photo workshops and photographer tours that are open to adult photographers of all skill levels.  Often we have younger family members who want attend these tours which is not a problem if they are in the company of a parentt or guardian. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by and adult- no exceptions.
