The impact of domestic violence on the physical and mental health of clients is so significant, it needs to be studied and understood by clinicians at all levels of therapy.  Whether working with children, adults, the elderly, drug and alcohol abusers, or clients experiencing health or legal issues, the brunt of domestic violence may be behind many of the presenting problems.  This workshop will address the aftermath of aggression and violent behavior from people known intimately by the victim.  Statistics and other known facts will be presented as well as information on accessing resources.  The course will also present information on strategies for helping clients stay safe.
