Hotel Galvez & Spa will host a Spanish Wine Pairing Dinner with guest Chef Pedro Angel Garcia of Houston's El Meson on Friday, April 15 at 7 p.m. This vintner dinner is part of the 2011 Galveston Island Food and Wine Festival.
Preceding the meal, the hotel will host a Cava Wine reception. Cava, a Spanish "sparkling" wine, is a centuries-old tradition carried on in the northern areas of Spain.
The evening event will feature eight (8) tasting courses of traditional and contemporary Spanish fare paired with five imported Spanish red, white and sparkling wines.
Chef Garcia will introduce each course and end theevening with a question and answer session.
Guests will also be entertained by a Spanish guitarist during the evening and a special exhbit of traditional costumes from various regions of Spain courtesy of the Spanish Consul General.
