THE NEW PHASE OF BART EXTENSION TO SILICON VALLEY

Join CSI East Bay-Oakland Chapter and AIA East Bay for an online presentation on Phase II of the BART to Silicon Valley project.

This largest public works project in Santa Clara County, is well underway extending BART service through downtown San Jose to Santa Clara. Bernice Alaniz will present the project and highlight features of the four stations to be built as part of this extension. Ms. Alaniz, the Director of External Affairs & Stakeholder Management for the Program at Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), will be introduced by Tian Feng, FAIA, FCSI, District Architect of BART.

Bernice Alaniz has 35 years of project management, communications, government affairs and public relations experience in Silicon Valley, 18 of those in transportation. Throughout her career, Bernice has developed and implemented comprehensive public relations, communications, promotional and outreach programs for major transportation capital projects, transit services and non-profit programs. Ms. Alaniz‘s responsibilities for BART to Silicon Valley Phase II Project include management of project planning, Transit Oriented Development (TOD) coordination, environmental support, media and communications.
