Register now!North Country educators at all grade levels are invited to attend a free all-day workshop conducted by Genevieve Aichele, founder and director of the NH Theatre Project.
The workshop will demonstrate how teachers in all subject areas can use techniques of applied drama to unleash the power of personal stories and make connections between local stories and the larger stories of history. The workshop will equip educators with techniques and activities to help students incorporate personal stories into both written narrative and spoken word, to animate history in the classroom, and to use theatre to discover commonality and connections among people. Representatives of local theaters are also invited to participate.
The program is made possible by a grant from the Saul O. Sidore Foundation and is a partnership between the NH Humanities Council, the NH Theatre Project, and the Arts Alliance of Northern NH. Participants will attend a follow-up workshop day in the spring, where they will have an opportunity to discuss with Genevieve and each other their use of these applied drama techniques in the classroom.
