VSAOur annual conference returns with a new look!  Using visual arts, music, creative drama and movement, we'll explore how all kinds of activities flowing from one book can unlock self-expression and positive group dynamics, and advance language and literacy learning in preschool and early elementary classrooms and child-care centers. Make the most of the "wild things" in your classrooms, channeling creativity and imagination. Unlock your own creative self in a day full of exploration, sharing and gathering new ideas for reaching all children through the arts.

While we'll use this familiar book for the day's activities, we'll also be looking at a wide range of books and stories that lend themselves to an arts-based approach to building both language and social skills.

Participants will take away sample lessons as well as many user-friendly ways to link the arts and learning. Particular attention will be given to meeting the needs of children with developmental and learning differences. We've also added a special end-of-conference session on Common Core & Universal Design for Learning -- planning lessons and designing classrooms that include all children.

Presented by: The Arts Alliance of Northern New Hampshire and VSA New Hampshire as part of our ongoing Arts in Early Learning collaboration. Teaching artist presenters include Deborah Stuart, Kelly Doremus Stuart, Will Cabell and Richard Moses.

Cost & Scholarships: Cost for the day is $40 and includes light morning snacks (please bring your own lunch) and Professional Development CEUs. Reduced rates are available for additional registrants from a single organization, library, preschool, or child-care center and for parents and students. Partial scholarships are available for all those who need them; please inquire if you would like to attend but cannot afford the fee.
