Fuels, Payments and Techs: Today and Tomorrow
The equipment used to store, meter and dispense fuel has come a long way since 1951 when the Petroleum Equipment Institute (PEI) was founded. But the association’s commitment to the distributors and contractors who sell, install and service that equipment remains as strong as ever. Today, PEI is helping the industry address a dizzying array of challenging questions. What does the future hold for mid- and high-level ethanol fuel blends? Can we expect electric vehicles or vehicles powered by other alternative fuels to gain a strong foothold in the market—and if so, what does that mean for the industry? How are payment technologies like EMV and mobile-pay likely to impact contractors’ businesses in the next few years? And how in the world can the industry find enough service technicians to handle the growing volume of work that needs to be done? This presentation looks at today’s biggest questions—with an eye toward the future.
