0845 AM - Update from GA EPD on UST Issues to Include Operator Training, Tank Registration, Record Keeping, Notification and Financial Responsibility.
0945 AM - Update on New UST Rules from EPA – Region 4 EPA - New rules have been introduced by Federal EPA that cover many new items in regards to Underground Storage Tanks.
10:00 AM - Break - Visit Vendor Exhibits - Visit the vendor exhibits to see the latest in new products and technologies for underground storage tanks. Cash and other door prizes will be available to those who visit the exhibits.
A/B Operator ' s Responsibilities - You are trained and certified - - - What Are You Supposed to Be Doing - - - in Regards to:
1030 AM - Product Compatibility and Fuel Problems to include Water in Tanks and Corrosion Problems in Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel Storage Systems - Tanks must be checked for water on a monthly basis. The state can shut your tanks down for a very small amount of water. There are many cases of extreme corrosion being caused in storage systems storing Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel. Find out some options to combat this problem.
1105 AM - Dispensers and Spill and Overfill Prevention - Dispensers must meet Georgia Weights and Measures Inspections and you must have one of the three allowed methods for overfill prevention.
1130 AM - Tank Leak Detection: Automatic Tank Gauges and Interstitial Monitoring - These are the two most common methods used for tank leak detection. How much product must you have in your tanks to use one of these methods?

1:00 PM - Release Detection - Tanks - Inv Control - Bill Greer, GTEC. Inventory Control used to be the most common method of tank leak detection, but now, most states do not even allow it as an available method. What about Georgia?
1:20 PM - Release Detection – Tanks – Tank Tighness Testing - There are several different occasions that require the testing of underground storage tanks. When should tanks be tested even if it is not part of the tank release detection?
1:40 PM - Statistical Inventory Reconcilliation (SIR) - When can SIR be used and when is it more economical to use?
2:00 PM - Release Detection - Piping - Methods for Pressure Pumping Systems differ greatly from Suction Pumping Systems. Do you know the difference?
2:30 PM - Corrosion Protection - Testing is required every three years by a certified testing company.
3:00 PM - Break - Visit Vendor Exhibits – Last chance to visit the exhibits and qualify for the door prize drawings.
3:30 PM - Release Reporting and UST Closures - Temporary and Permanent - When can a tank be closed in place and when must it be removed?
3:45 PM - Operator C Training - Bill Greer - Bill will furnish some aids that will be useful in training your C Operators.
4:15 PM - Door Prize Drawing - $200 Cash Drawing and other prizes donated by various vendors.
