Rooms have been reserved (under the name “Order of Malta”) on the evenings of October 18, 19, and 20 at four locations near St. Matthew’s Cathedral. October is a VERY busy month for hotels in Washington, and these rooms are reserved for our group for a limited time – so please make reservations early.

The Mayflower Hotel – 4-star hotel – 1127 Connecticut Avenue. SOLD OUT

The Beacon Hotel – 3-star hotel - $189 double room – 17th Street & Rhode Island Ave. Call 800-821- 4367. There are TEN rooms left at this rate on Oct 19 and 20 so please call SOON.

The University Club of Washington - $179 per night – 1135 Sixteenth Street. Call 202-862-8800. Rooms reserved at this rate until October 4.

The Hay Adams Hotel – 4-star hotel - $349 per night – Across from Lafayette Park and White House,Sixteenth & H Streets. Call 202-638-6600. Rooms will be reserved at this rate until September 21.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2012

11:30 a.m. - Luncheon and Annual Meeting
Promenade Ballroom – The Mayflower Hotel
This members-only meeting will be for Knights and Dames of the Federal Association and members of class of 2012. There will be presentations by some officers and committee chairs followed by a question and answer session.
RSVP required - $50 per person

2:00 p.m. - Presentation on Order of Malta Prison Ministry Program
Grant Ballroom – The Mayflower Hotel
Learn about the program that the Federal Association is planning to introduce to all members in early 2013. Working in concert with the American and Western Associations, the goal will be to distribute Order of Malta sponsored reading materials to inmates nationwide.
No charge – but RSVP required

3:30 p.m. - Defense of the Faith Forum
Grand Ballroom – The Mayflower Hotel
“Challenges Facing Catholics in America Today” Most Reverend William E. Lori – Archbishop of Baltimore All Knights, Dames, Candidates, and family/friends are invited to this program.
No charge – but RSVP required

6:00 p.m. - Cocktail Reception

All Knights, Dames, Candidates, and family/friends are invited to this reception
RSVP required - $50 per person

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2012

10:00 a.m. - Investiture Mass and Ceremony
Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle
No tickets are required. The Cathedral opens at 9:00 a.m.
All members and candidates are to report to the cathedral at 9:15 for robing.
The Most Reverend Kevin Farrell, the Bishop of Dallas and a Conventual Chaplain of the Federal Association, will be the celebrant and homilist.
There will be reserved seating for members of the Order only.
There will be a professional photographer and photos will be sent to all newly invested members; so, no photos or filming are permitted once Mass has begun.

1:00 p.m. - Investiture Luncheon
Grand Ballroom - The Mayflower Hotel
Due to space limitations, no walk-ins can be accommodated.
There will be a few, short reports and awards presented after lunch.
RSVP required - $50 per person

7:00 p.m. - Annual Dinner
The United States Chamber of Commerce
Due to space limitations, only members of the Order (and their spouse / escort) may attend the dinner. The VIP Reception (6:30 p.m.) is for the members of the class of 2012. There will be a receiving line with a professional photographer.
The dinner is “White Tie with Decoration.” Men are to wear the large Cross of the Order around the neck. Women are to pin their Cross of the Order to their dress over the heart.
