ASCE San Jose Branch/San Jose YMF,

Safety Assessment Program (SAP) Evaluator Training

ASCE San Jose Branch and San Jose YMF would like to welcome you to our second annual Safety Assessment Program (SAP) training on May 6th, 2017. SAP is a state-wide disaster response program, where groups of trained volunteers provide inspections of buildings and infrastructure impacted by natural and man-made disasters. Licensed civil, structural and geotechnical engineers, architects, and building inspectors are eligible candidates for this volunteer program, but all are welcome to attend and learn about the program.

This training will be provided by Doug Taylor, PE, M.ASCE. Doug is the ASCE Region 9 Chair of the Disaster Preparedness Committee. Doug will describe the program, the volunteer's role in the program, and provide the necessary evaluator training. A PE license is required for SAP certification, but anyone can take the training (certification will follow once a PE license is obtained).  More information about the program can be found at California's Office of Emergency Services website:

http://www.caloes.ca.gov/cal-oes-divisions/recovery/disaster-mitigation-technical-support/technical-assistance/safety-assessment-program

Registration cost is $10. Registration costs will cover all training materials (a $32 value FREE), lunch, snacks, and morning coffee. For questions about this event, please contact Alana Guzzetta by email or phone shown to the left.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Pre-Registration closes Wednesday, May 3rd.
