William Engelking, the Managing Director of Prudential Capital Group's Chicago Corporate Finance office, shares his team's insights on current conditions in the U.S. capital markets (including the credit markets, private equity and M&A) as well as his observations on the current state of the economy based on trends in Prudential Capital’s investment portfolio.
Engelking, who joined Prudential in 1997, oversees Prudential Capital's private capital investment activity in the Great Lakes region, with a focus on long term senior debt, subordinated debt and minority equity investments.
Engelking received a BBA and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Prudential Capital Group invested $13.5 billion in capital in 2017, with a total private placement portfolio of more than $81 billion as of June 2018, made up of more than 1,000 client companies around the globe.
